“ Just beyond a 5 star experience here for so many reasons! We stopped here after a day in SF, and just needed a nice place to sit for a while. This cozy spot has a front space with a lovely bar, and more seating in the back indoor patio as well. They have a wine and beer menu which is what I needed at the moment (though no draft beers). All the servers we interacted with were super sweet and friendly. One of my favorite things about this place was their Frenchie Jack, who is just happily roaming around the restaurant. The owner was so sweet and brought treats out for my kids to do tricks with Jack. (He's got some good ones!). The owner also showed us the band set in the back for when they have live music and I loved that he let my ecstatic kiddos play around on it. FOOD: - if there were more vegan restaurants like this, there would probably be more vegans! - I love that it's an international menu, ie with dishes with Thai influence, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, North African influences etc. - We had the Impossible Patty burger which was PERFECT, I wish we got two! A soft, lightly crisp bun, caramelized onions, lettuce/tomato. - The Malaysian Chicken Satay dish was also very good, the "chicken" paired perfectly with the peanut sauce/ Can't wait to be back to try more of their dishes! ”
“ Nice ambience, friendly staff, including the owner!! Enjoyed meeting his dog too . The menu was very diverse and all of the dishes were very delicious!! If in the area again, I'd gladly return and bring friends!! ”
“ Out of towner and I was looking to try a Vegan spot! This place was amazing. Love the atmosphere and the dishes were delicious. Server was also amazing! I would come here again next time I'm in the area. ”
“ Huge variety of house made dishes. Terrific server who helped narrow the options and guided us to the right choices. Buffalo wings (Mushroom), huge plate of lion's mane steak with chimchurri + fresh asparagus + mashed potatoes. Savory delicious. Filipino dish (can't remember name) that had tasty spices and was also large. New to me and enjoyed. Highly recommend ”
“ Everything is vegan. International dishes. Came here on our anniversary. Delicious. The taro leaves were amazing. I'm coming again to try the thali plate. ”
“ Yummy vegan cafe with international dishes. I enjoyed the Japan "Chicken" Katsu, can't go wrong with crispy "chicken", mashed potatoes & gravy and fresh vegetables! My husband had the "steak" special and said it was really good too. It's always such a treat to dine at an all vegan restaurant! The staff was attentive and helpful too. Great place to eat whenever we're in the area. ”
“ This eclectic menu had one thing in common between the Thai, American and Mexican dishes my friends and I ordered. All the dishes were plant-based. Not just plant-based, but extremely delicious and flavorful! The owner Kenny is very friendly and passionate about vegan cooking, the "steak" I had was made of gluten and not a laboratory derived, overly processed meat substitute. Two generous portions of veggies came with it. There is a back stage area where live music plays. The food was so good, I came back for brunch. An exceptional jazz trio starts playing on Sundays around 12pm. I think there's live music on other days as well. Whether or not you're vegan (I brought my BBQ lovin' friend from NC who loved the tofu bahn mi) do your taste buds a favor and check out Sky Cafe. And if you're a jazz fan, the Sunday trio is definitely worth a listen. ”
“ Wow, I continue to be impressed with each visit. This is an updated review. I returned again with a friend. We ordered cauliflower wings, chimichurri, jalapeño poppers, and lamb kebab. All delicious, although the poppers and chimichurri had more oil that I wanted too, I would still purchase them again. They have a very nice cozy outdoor area where they frequently have live music. If you're interested in this option, they seem to advertise all their live music options on their IG. You can find a link to their calendar on their social media pages as well. This seems like a great community place. Food comes out quickly, and service is no nonsense (they don't bother you while you're eating, they refill your drinks, they answer your questions...what more can you ask for?) It is on the pricier side for me, since on average I spend about $40 per person when coming here (but...we do always order a lot of appetizers). But I leave full and satisfied that I spent my money well supporting a restaurant with ties to the community. Seriously, every friend I've taken here is so impressed. I cannot wait to return! ”
“ My partner and I are working towards eating less animal products, but we also love so many different cuisines that don't have a lot of plant-based options. Then, I stumbled upon sky cafe! I thought, what a cool concept, and finally got to try it on a Saturday for lunch. We got there around 1pm, and the host offered us seating inside or on their patio where live music was playing (you can hear it in my video). The ambience was very warm and inviting with local artists' work on the wall for sale. About a quarter of the restaurant was filled, and parties continued to come and go throughout our time there. Many items on the menu intrigued us, but we settled for one main and two appetizers to share. Everything was very tasty, and I can't wait to go back to try more things! Sky Cafe seems to make a lot of great intentional and thoughtful choices! ”
“ 4.5 STARS The best part of any post/reel/TikTok are the keyboard warrior comments. A chef posted a reel on Pad Krapow/Krapao (Thai basil stir-fry)...and I went straight to the comments section. "Not onions, blasphemy!" "Italian basil?!" "That's not how my mother...grandmother...aunt...wife...baby momma....side chick makes it!" Welp. Sky Café serves a Vegan Pad Krapow...with red onions and white onions. It may not be traditional but it satisfied my craving for pad krapow. Although I'm not a vegan, I was sad to see Nick's on Grand (Vegan Filipino) but happy that their successor, Sky Café is serving up some delicious vegan fare....that doesn't make you miss the real deal. Sky Café is open for takeout, delivery, indoor dining, and patio dining (dog-friendly). M E N U Global Vegan Fare - American (sandwiches, burgers), Mexican (burritos), Chinese (sweet & sour chicken), Indian (thali), Filipino (sisig), Malaysian (satay), Thai (pad krapow), Japanese (katsu), Middle Eastern (kebab), etc. If there's something on the menu that catches your eye, def call ahead to inquire about availability. They were out of the two things I wanted to try. Beer and wine available. F O O D * Vegan Pad Krapow: Soy protein w/ basil, onion, garlic, chili, green onion, rice ($17): https://tinyurl.com/kcmbyaaw ++Yo! Egg ($3) ++Requested extra spicy The basil stir-fry was hot, savory, sweet, and basil-y with the soy protein, bell peppers, and onions soaking up all the delicious flavors. Gotta have the obligatory sunny side up egg which looked and tasted like the real deal...down to yolk that oozed creamy liquid gold. The egg was overseasoned and very salty tho. It's served with basmati rice that's used for all their rice dishes. It def hit the spot. S E R V I C E Friendly and prompt food service at opening time. When you're finished eating, pay at the counter. A M B I A N C E Casual and rustic indoor dining area with exposed brick walls and a back patio (hasn't changed much since Nick's). There's live music on the weekends. There's an adorable resto dog named Jax (?) roaming around. =) P A R K I N G Street and lot parking. Overall, vegan or not, if you're looking for something different and/or to satisfy everyone in your party wanting a different cuisine, give Sky Café a try! ”
